I would do this while in quarantine, but I don't have enough fabric. I'm just going to hope that goodwill is reopened by this summer, so I can make it then for AP.
The name of my piece is Pond. . . James Pond.Completed PieceI made a ceramic koi fish as my animal project. It is made out of clay and is painted with watercolors to make it more realistic. The colors orange, black, and yellow are used in my piece to make my fish vibrant and realistic. To express movement in my piece, I made the body curve slightly to the right to make the fish look as though it's swimming. The fins and tail also are shaped in the position they would be in if it were swimming. I was inspired to make this piece by a Japanese prints that include koi fish (such as the one pictured above). My piece shows this inspiration through the use of vibrant colors and movement similar to how they are used in Japanese prints. I found the shape of my piece to be successful as well as the colors. The small details, such as the eyes and scales, turned out to be successful as well. Through this assignment, I learned how to capture the movement of a koi fish and I learned the significance that small details have on a piece. In Progress PhotoPlan1. For my piece, I plan to make a life-size koi fish out of clay. I plan on using slabs and coils to shape my fish, and various tools to add texture and detail to the fish.
2. I was inspired to make a koi fish because of a time i saw them at Duke Gardens a couple years ago with my family. |
